"Chinese Coffee"
Film "Chinese coffee" (2000)
Directed by Al Pacino
Starring: Al Pacino, Jerry Orbach, Susan Floyd
Average rating: 7,9
The New-York atmosphere, Al Pacino and manuscript – like this I can briefly describe the dramatic film "Chinese coffee». The director, oddly enough, is Al Pacino himself, who also shares the main role in the film with Jerry Orbach.
The film is conducted on behalf of friends who met in an apartment and discuss past days of their lives, which influenced their situation today and on which the future depends. During nostalgic moments, excerpts from the lives of the characters are shown on the screen, which gives the film a harmonious atmosphere. Events from the past are intertwined into one story, which the main character Harry Levin transfers to paper - writes a manuscript, which should become his savior in overcoming poverty and routine life.

The director of the film emphasized dialogues, so it is possible to listen to the movie as an audiobook. Vital humor and plaguy retrospective, from which it aches in the chest, fill the dialogues of two friends. The focus is on the figures of two middle-aged men, but there is also the opportunity to get into the mood of autumn New York and sneak a peek at the actions of the characters.

Harry's ironic remarks about his addiction to Chinese coffee and culture itself attract the eye and ear. The theme of Chinatown in the central city of America is filled with other colors - not sushi and geisha, but coffee and people.
A movie about the values of friendship and life priorities, which sometimes may not intentionally and indirectly affect people around an individual. But will it have a positive outcome or not - it is up to everyone to decide. I definitely and unconditionally recommend watching this film under one condition: coffee is mandatory.
